Social Impact Awards

Richard, Vivi, Louis and I just attended the Social Impact Awards, a brand new event that aims to recognise charities, non-profits and social enterprises that have made a big difference through their work, which was hosted at Manchester's Comedy Store.

With so many deserving nominees, we feel incredibly honoured to have picked up two awards: 'Website of the Year' for our work with Oxfam and 'Best Communications Campaign' for the Refuge Support a Friend campaign.

Before the awards themselves came an afternoon conference, featuring many inspirational talks on the significant social impact that this kind of work actually has.

Excitingly, we were presented with our awards by Andy Crane, who now, of course, works for BBC Radio Manchester, but who many of us remember from the CBBC Broom cupboard, Sadly, Ed the Duck couldn't make it on the night, but Louis did reveal that Andy's actually an old friend of Code's... We delved into our very own broom cupboard and dug out this video Christmas card which features Mr Crane himself, along with some very young faces from the old school Code family.
