Code in the news May 2014

We had a great end to 2013 here at Code: the website we created for Oxfam cleaned up at the UXUK Awards, winning out as 'Best Effect on Business/Organisational Goals', and being named runner up in the 'Best Not-for-profit/Public Sector' and 'Best Transactional' categories; the Chester Zoo website won 'Best Mobile Solution' at the Sitecore Awards 2013; and there was a Plain English Website Award for The Woodland Trust website.

Here's a quick look at what we've been up to during the first quarter of the year.

January

January got off to a great start when our own Matt Thornhill organised the first ever DPM:UK conference in collaboration with Manchester Digital. This fantastic event was a huge success and really got the blogging community buzzing -- you can find links to the coverage of the DPM:UK website. We were also pleased to see our 'Brigitte' campaign for Brother named one of last year's most memorable by b2bmarketing.

February

In February, Tony took to the airwaves to do an interview with BBC Radio Manchester on the Manchester Digital Skills Festival, and Louis also got talking, sharing insights into our work for Chester Zoo at TFM&A 2014.

The Nonprofit Tech for Good blog included the Code-created Oxfam America site in their 11 'Responsively Designed Nonprofit Websites to Study and Learn From', and we were also named fifth overall -- and number one in Manchester -- in Prolific North's Top 50 Digital Agencies 2014.

March

After its release at the very end of February, the Various productions app quickly caught the imagination of the dance music community thanks to features in publications including DJ Mag, My Beat Fix and XLR8R.

We also launched the new Chester Zoo app in March, securing coverage from Mobile Marketing Magazine and Design Week amongst others.

And word got around about our appointment by Flava-it via the Manchester Evening News and Prolific North.

April

As we moved into April, the Various app continued to garner plenty of attention: it was named Mobile Site of the Day by FWA and also received third place in the March IAB Creative Showcase winners rundown.

And two of our founders hit the road to spread the Code word, with Tony speaking on the HICM course in Stockholm, Amsterdam and Gothenburg, and Louis discussing our work for Oxfam GB and Chester Zoo at the Sitecore Digital Trendspot event.
