Step by step guide of how to set up Facebook Business Manager

To switch your Facebook business page over to the new business manager system can seem daunting, but it is actually quite straight forward.

Getting Started

Go to At the bottom of the page, click Get Started.

Fill in some basic details about your business.

Enter the name of the business in step 3.

Enter your business name

Enter your name, business email address, and click ‘Create Business Manager’ to setup your business page.

You’ll then be presented with a message to welcome you to Business Manager.

Add people to Business Manager

To add people to the business manager account. Click on ‘settings’ in the top left hand corner, and click ‘add new person’ in the top left hand corner to add someone to manage the account.

Enter the work email address of the person you want to invite to the business manager account. The person doesn’t need to have used their work email address to register on Facebook. Facebook Business Manager removes the need for you to have a separate account for both personal and work.

Choose whether to add as a manager admin or manager employee.

You can then select whether the person can have control of the pages and or ad accounts and choose their role.

An email will then be sent to the person inviting them to join the Business Manager on Facebook.

You will see the new user you have invited as pending until they accept:

Once you send an invite, the person you have requested access to will receive an email from Facebook. They then need to click ‘Get started’.

They will then be asked to provide a first and last name, and to click continue to the next screen.

The person then needs to login with their personal Facebook account. This will not be shown on the Facebook Business Manager page and only the work email address and name you provided on the previous page will be shown.

Verify with Facebook

Once you click ‘Verify with Facebook’ you will then be able to access the Pages or Ad accounts which you have permission for.
