HTML and CSS snowman competition

We work in an ever-changing industry, constantly at the mercy of new technology releases which are increasingly being led by user demands. I believe it's massively important that we all make an effort to understand this, and do everything we can to keep up.

With this in mind, I launched a fun, easy and festively-themed competition inviting anyone at Code to create a snowman. The rules were simple (in fact, there was only one), and designed to level the playing field a little: use ONLY HTML and CSS; no images, fonts, Javascript or any other alternative media.

This was the first time I'd really done anything like this, and although we did have quite a few folks take part, I think I have a way to come in terms of competition marketing and promotion! The entries we did have, however, were really encouraging, and I was especially impressed by some of those submitted by 'non-developers'.

The winner was decided by an agency-wide vote -- and here are the results:

Well done to all the entrants, And now that more people in the agency know what it's all about and are keen to have a go themselves, we're hoping to run some more similar competitions in the future.
