Computerlovers raise over £1k for Cash for Kids Superhero Day

If you’d stopped by the Code offices last Friday and glanced around, you might well have seen Wonder Woman leading a morning stand up, a Thunderbird manning the phones on the new business desk, or even Superman brewing up in the kitchen.

But it’s not because we’ve had a major personnel overhaul (though, let’s face it, if Superman did come in for an interview, he’d probably get the job…) – we were just getting into the spirit of Cash for Kids Superhero Day.

Plenty of Computerlovers indulged in a spot of dress up for the day, but the winner of the ‘Best Dressed’ trophy inevitably went to Lola a.k.a. Batdog:

Those who didn’t want to don full fancy dress could take part in our fundraising face painting session. We also ran a silent auction where the top prizes included a spa day at Malmaison and afternoon tea at Hotel Gotham, and a highly-competitive pub quiz (big congratulations to the winning team “Pants outside Trousers”).

In total, we managed to raise over £1,000 for When You Wish Up a Star. Massive props to our fundraising team Claire K., Alex, Elise, Amy R., Harriet and Louise for making the day such a success, and good on all the Computerlovers who dug deep.

Head over to the Code Computerlove Facebook page to see all the pictures for the day and remember, it’s not too late to contribute – either text KEY to 70808 now to donate £5, or donate online here.
