Code in the news Jul 2014

The last few months have been filled with plenty of celebrations (both of the anniversary and the award variety) and a handful of landmark events for Code.

Here's a roundup of the latest goings-on.

May was a particularly busy month for our founder Tony -- he headed down to London to collect our IAB Creative Showcase Award for the Various Production app, and was also featured in the BIMA Hot 100 2014 (you can see his entry on p64 of the BIMA Hot 100 report).

And the awards kept coming -- we also picked up the Large Digital Agency trophy at the Prolific North Awards.

To coincide with our 15th birthday celebration, Tony did an interview with the Manchester Evening News to talk about our exciting expansion plans, and the MMU Digital Innovation website put together a great feature on the agency too. We of course couldn't let this important anniversary go by without raising a glass (or seven), so we held a big party at The Deaf Institute for staff, friends and clients too.

And on the work front we were chuffed to see our HMV website highlighted as one of the most "innovative web redesigns ever" by Creative Bloq; they also featured our Late Deals infographic in their countdown of the best infographics ever.

More industry recognition came our way in June with our work for The Woodland Trust beating competition from all over the world to win the Best technical solution at Umbraco's Codegarden 2014 conference.

The tongue-in-cheek 'Value Your Dad' campaign we put together for The Car Buying Service to mark Father's Day was covered by The Drum and Prolific North.

We also made it into Econsultancy's Top 100 Digital Agencies 2014 yet again, and Tony made an appearance on Prolific North News.

We started the month off with the Big Chip Award (and the obligatory Code social that we always arrange for the same night of the awards do). The Chester Zoo app we created won Best Use of Mobile and also the prestigious Grand Prix -- and then we showed off some pretty impressive moves on the dance floor to celebrate.

Major projects we've been doing for DWF and the Woodland Trust went live in July. We also launched our 'Unleash your meat lust' campaign for Flava-it, which garnered plenty of social media attention and coverage from Campaign and Manchester Evening News.

The Ole world Cup score tracker that we created received FWA Mobile of the Day. And we got news of more award nominations in the Digital Entrepreneur Awards (Best Use of Mobile) and the DADIs (Not-for-Profit for both The Woodland Trust and PDSA, and Use of Mobile for Chester Zoo).

Our founder Louis spoke at Figaro Digital's 'Backing the Future: New Technology for Digital Marketers' event.

And we marked 10 years of working with Hillarys by sending them a giant cake and balloons because we're nice like that.
