Code Computerlove are Honoured to be Contributing to ‘This Is The Place’

We’re honoured to have been invited to contribute to the ‘This Is The Place – Choose Love Manchester’ book, a direct response to the attack that occurred at the Manchester Arena in May.

The book is based on Tony 'Longfella' Walsh’s poem ‘This Is The Place’ which he read so memorably at the Albert Square vigil following the tragedy.

Brainchild of James Torry, owner of film & motion company Doodledo, the book is a collaboration between Tony and over 60 Manchester-based agencies, designers, illustrators and photographers, including the likes of Peter Saville and Malcolm Garrett. All proceeds will go to Forever Manchester, Mayor of Greater Manchester's Homelessness Fund and the We Love MCR Emergency Fund.

Contributors have each been given one line from the poem to interpret however they choose for their page; we were given the line, "…that this is the place that helped shaped the world...".

The creative journey begun, as always, with a period of exploration and discovery which saw us come up with a variety of different possibilities. We eventually homed in one idea and are incredibly proud of the finished product.

We won’t be revealing the finished artwork until after the book’s been published, but check back in a few weeks when we’ll be posting again about our contribution and how we went about creating it.

The book will be released on 22nd September 2017 but you can pre-order your copy on Amazon now.
