MCARTHURGLEN INVESTS IN SEVEN NEW CONSUMER SITES

McArthurGlen is investing heavily in its digital presence in a bid to attract new customers to its outlets and to increase awareness of the benefits, which include up to 60% off designer and high street brands every day and free personal shopping at selected centres.

Each of McArthurGlen's seven designer outlets will have a bespoke website based on master brand guidelines but with specific content relevant to its stores and location. The first one launched, in time for the summer sale, is for the York outlet www.yorkdesigneroutlet.com Other sites will be updated and rolled out in the coming weeks.

Shannon Luxford, regional marketing manager UK, said: "Our web presence will extend the communication of our loyalty programme, which is all about the added benefits of shopping at a McArthurGlen outlet, and has been designed to tempt consumers into making a visit and keeping coming back."

The sites boast an innovative Personal Shopping section that not only allows consumers to book in for a free two hour personal shopping session, but enables them to upload lots of information about themselves ahead of the visit to aid the personal shopping consultants' choice.

There is also a Stylist Picks section updated weekly with new hot deals exclusive to each McArthurGlen outlet based on stock held with the stores on site.

A Fashion Tips section gives up to the minute fashion advice by style experts Total Image Solutions, who provide the personal shopper service at each location; and there is local tourist information area with links to local attractions to encourage visitors from out of the area to make the trip to the centre.

Special offers shown on the website are tailored for each outlet and are supported by the brand's core proposition of up to "60% off every day".

Each site also encourages visitors to take advantage of the McArthurGlen 'Love Rewards' loyalty programme.

Visitors to the site can also view details of the brands and stores based at the outlet, facilities available, TV commercials for each outlet, get directions and opening hours, learn more about  gift cards

and make group bookings.

Shannon added: "Our new sites are the first stage of a major digital push, which will include online advertising, PR and social media campaigns, plus further  investment in SEO and PPC activity."

McArthurGlen is Europe's leading designer outlet developer, owner and operator. It has seven shopping centres in Chester (Cheshire Oaks), Ashford in Kent, Bridgend in Wales, East Midlands, Livingston near Edinburgh, Swindon and York. The groups UK head office is on Wigmore Street, London.
