Code appointed to create Hovis brand site

Friday, 18 August 2006

Hovis has appointed digital communications agency Code to produce its new website as part of this summer's £20m Hovis re-launch.

The website is just one part of a brand relaunch that will see a new positioning of the Hovis brand based around the proposition "Hovis is for Life" - a modern interpretation of the Hovis "goodness" message. As part of the relaunch, Hovis will be introducing additional lines and new packaging all supported by an extensive offline advertising and PR campaign in consumer magazines and national press.

Code were appointed to work on the brand site following their successful work on consumer microsites for award winning Hovis Granary www.hovisgranary.com and the new Hovis 120 www.hovis120.com, a celebration of the company's 120 year history.

Code account director Jarrod Bull comments, "Hovis is in the fantastic position of being a well established and much loved brand which really meets consumer needs. The Hovis website has always been a good information source but the new site will go so much further in encouraging consumers to really engage with the brand."

Mandy Dhingra, brand manager for Hovis, adds, "The new website is a crucial part of our Hovis strategy for growth. Although our current site has some excellent content we need to relate it to the new positioning and work hard with each visitor. The team at Code are not only innovative and exciting to work with but they also understand our brand and objectives."

Award-winning Code, formed in 1999, is a full service digital marketing agency that employs 40 people. The agency's client list includes Waterstone's, Kimberly Clark Corporation, HMV, RHM Food Services, NUS Services, BUPA, and Akzo Nobel.
