Beaverbrooks appoints Code Computerlove for e-commerce task

National High Street jeweller, Beaverbrooks has appointed Manchester based Code Computerlove as its digital marketing agency following a four-way competitive pitch.

Beaverbrooks the jewellers has more than 65 retail stores across the UK as well as internet and Mail Order sales functions and the agency has been tasked with designing a new e-commerce site for them.

Code's managing director Andrew Davenport said: "Code has a vast amount of experience in developing award winning retail sites - gained previously with brands such as HMV, Hillarys and Matalan - and so we are ideally placed to deliver an industry-leading digital solution for Beaverbrooks, to help it increase online sales and communicate the brand's points of difference more effectively.

"We will translate the in-store experience and Beaverbrooks' high standards of customer service in a creative and user friendly site, that can cater for customers buying a £50 bracelet to a £5000 watch."

A family run business since 1919, based in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, Beaverbrooks regularly appears in the Sunday Times Best Companies To Work For list reaching the number 1 spot for 2009 and prides itself on its reputation for integrity, passion and caring approach. "And it is these values we would like to convey through our online presence," said Beaverbrooks' head of multi-channel Roger Fairhurst. "Code demonstrated that they have a detailed understanding of the online retail environment, together with creative ability, to bring our brand to life online and help us increase internet sales and sales in-store."

The new site is due to launch in September, in time for the Christmas sales period.
