Web Application Developer

The Role

The primary function of this role is to develop online solutions for internet, intranet and extranet deployment.

You will be involved in many challenging projects, and will work on the full development lifecycle from specification through to test and implementation.   Typical projects will range from small website development to more complex online applications for a range of B2B and B2C clients and brands.

The candidate will have the appetite to stay abreast of current technologies and industry practice and will work within the team to enhance Code’s overall technical capabilities and offering.

 

Required Skills and Experience

Code is looking for a self-motivated candidate who can work within a dynamic environment and can demonstrate their ability to work under pressure and to multi task without reduction in work quality and concentration. Candidates should also exhibit good communication skills both verbal and written, a good team-work attitude and the ability to interact and integrate with the development team, designers and project managers.  Ideally, candidates will have previously worked in a similar agency environment.

Formal IT qualifications or university degree are preferable but not essential. Candidates must have experience of developing online systems with ASP and ASP.NET, although their core development language now will be .NET, preferably with C#

Candidates must be fully aware of online accessibility issues and experienced at strictly working to W3C accessibility guidelines.  Therefore a thorough understanding of XHTML and CSS are essential.

Additionally, experience of building and working with eCommerce and Content Management systems will be advantageous.

The candidate should be fully conversant with:

  • Microsoft .NET (C#) 1.1 and above
  • SQL Server 2000 and above
  • XHTML 1.0 /CSS
  • JavaScript (DOM Scripting and AJAX development)

Relevant experience in other web technologies will be taken into consideration in conjunction with a strong passion for the industry.
